The Telefunken ELA M 251 is a legendary large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone developed by AKG in Vienna for Telefunken and introduced in the late 1950s. It was based on the AKG C 12 platform and combined the famous CK12 capsule with a 6072 tube and T14 transformer. How Did the ELA M 251 Begin

The T14 Transformer

The polar-pattern selector became a particularly well-known failure point in original examples.
