BU47
Beesneez has now painstakingly recreated a part-for-part remake of the Classic U47, from the Capsule and head unit to the connector and plug. The BU47 brings the unmistakable authority, presence, and depth of the original into the hands of today’s engineers and artists.
The original had some changes along the way. For instance it was released with an M7 Capsule which was then changed to a K47 Capsule. It also had more then one transformer along the way. Neumann also released a separate variant of this microphone along the way; the U48 for those that desired figure 8 and cardioid patterns, as the U47 only had Cardioid and Omni Patterns. Beesneez Have decided to release the BU47 with options.
- Option 1: BU47M
Just like the original, with a Beesneez M7 capsule with Cardioid and Omni Patterns only. (The Beesneez M7 capsule is a very mellow and sweet capsule. It has the famous lower mid strength and no single frequency is overpowering. - Option 2: BU47K
Just like the original with the Beesneez K47 Capsule, with Cardioid and Omni Patterns only. The Beesneez K47 Capsule does have a more prominent low mid and bottom end frequency response. - Option 3: BU47M7RP (remote pattern)
This is just like the original with a Beesneez M7 capsule when switched to cardioid at the head grille. When switched to Omni at the head grille this model will have 9 controllable polar patterns that can be changed remotely at the power supply unit. - Option 4: BU47K7RP (remote pattern)
This is just like the original with a Beesneez K47 capsule when switched to cardioid at the head grille. When switched to Omni at the head grille this model will have 9 controllable polar patterns that can be changed remotely at the power supply unit.
At the heart of the BU47 is the Beesneez BV08 transformer and a carefully selected EF series tube. With ultimate flexibility the BU47 can be purchased with either the Beesneez K47 capsule, the Beesneez M7 capsule or both. This combination delivers the bold, larger-than-life sound that made the original U47 a studio staple, while ensuring reliability and sonic integrity for modern workflows.
The BU47 captures vocals with commanding intimacy, giving every performance a rich, three-dimensional quality. On acoustic instruments, brass, or room miking, it brings forward warmth, depth, and effortless detail. Bridging vintage warmth and modern durability, the Neumann K47 capsule defined vocal recording history—and remains a studio staple for intimate, authoritative tone.

We own the BU47 with the M7 Capsule.
We run the Mic either into our SSL AWS 900 Console Pres or into a Tegeler Vari Tube Recording Channel. Both Preamps are absolute top notch and in conjunction with that Mic deliver absolute stellar Vocalsounds.
We used and still use to track Vocals either with Neumann U87, an AEA R84 or Austrian Audio OC818 aswell as some dynamic Options and the BU47 M7 still rivals almost every other Vocalsound. It has the smoothness of Ribbons, the Detail of LDC mics and still delivers midrange Detail and character like maybe a MD441 or an SM7b / RE20 would.
When you track Vocals with this mic its hard to find a Singer that doesnt fit this mic. With every other Option you always have to match the Vocals with the Mic.
In other exciting news, who would have thought, this mic is absolutely Top Tir for acoustic guitars, loves Bass and is a VERY very good option as a center Kit Drum Mic.
Im still waiting for it to be a bad choice for anything.
With my latest production i had the BU47 as my “up and ready for anything” mic, doing guitars, shaker, BVs, acoustics percussions…. everything and i hardly had to do anything in the mix. Normaly those are the fields where the U87s excell but it worked more than fine. (u87s were in front of a stereo electric guitarsetup)
All in all im really really happy with the choice of “our” U47 being a Beezneez Product.
We also own the Lulu FETS and they too deliver on the same level as in “absolute championsleague microphone”
